Success Story – Morag Gabai, Service Representative, Novolog

morag, 21, is a freshman in accounting and business administration at the school for management. she began working as a service representative at novolog five months ago. she works part-time.

recalls morag:
"i finished my army service about a year and a half ago and after my discharge i worked at a 'preferred job' in order to receive the grant from national insurance [the government provides special benefits for discharged soldiers who work at certain types of jobs. since i decided to begin college studies this year, i wanted to find a job suited to me as a student and novolog is an ideal place for students."

on the job-search process:
"my boyfriend and i were sitting in front of the computer one day, checking out various links to all sorts of websites. one of them was jobnet, the site on which i eventually found the job.
"from the moment i began to look, within a few days i had found the position at novolog. i saw the ad on jobnet and sent my resume to novolog via the site. one or two days later i got a call from novolog and we arranged an interview. within a short time they notified me i had been hired and i began the training process.
"novolog allowed me to undergo the training on my own schedule. the fact they gave me flexibility during the training period made it much easier for me as a student."

what did you look for?
"i looked for positions in the field of banking, which is tied to my studies. the problem with work in this field is that it requires a full month of training, which would be impossible for me as a student. so i started looking for jobs in customer service, too. novolog allowed me an optimal combination of work and studies."

how were you taken in at novolog?
"the truth is that i hadn't expected the breaking-in period to go so smoothly. the customer service department is a small, intimate department and it's fun to come to every shift. i got hired for the job before my final exams and to take the course at novolog during the exam period seemed less than ideal to me, and therefore novolog allowed me to defer the training until after the exams. the training was fun. the woman in charge of training at novolog had been a service representative herself and she taught us a lot. she knew exactly which tips to share and which problems we would run into on the job. she didn't explain just the technical side – which focuses on operating the system."

on the company:
novolog was founded in 1998 under joint ownership (50% and 50%) by cts (a large, well-known drug manufacturer) and pharm-up (novolog's parent company, which operates in the field of drug marketing in the international sector).
novolog is a leading service company offering quality, comprehensive logistical solutions for multinational drug companies operating in israel and to cts.
the company has 150 employees and its activity is constantly growing.
novolog has set a goal of creating new standards in the areas of customer service, quality assurance and supply chain.

how is work conducted at the novolog service center?
"the department i work in is a private department. it provides service to pharmacies, super-pharm, new pharm and pharmacies at the large grocery stores. we receive orders for drugs and additional products and transfer the orders to the gathering warehouse where the order is processed for the customer.
"in addition to orders we handle the returns of products whose expiration dates have passed and stock surpluses.
"i work the student post at the center and we man the evening shifts. at novolog on motzei shabbat there are also four representatives who listen to orders pharmacists leave on our answering service over the weekend and transfer them to the gathering warehouse to allow the pharmacies to receive their orders by sunday."

on the atmosphere at the company:
"novolog is an organization that anyone would want to belong to. it's simply fun to come to work. the atmosphere at the company and the people who work here are fantastic.
"the atmosphere at the phone center is very young and dynamic, especially during the evening shifts, when most of the representatives are students. for anybody who's looking for work i warmly recommend novolog because you can fit into a lot of different fields here and there are opportunities for advancement."
