twenty-seven-year-old lian chomesh works in the international marketing department at comsec. she found her job after a two-month search during which she checked the jobnet site on a regular basis.
“when i finished my bachelor’s degree in economics and logistics i tried to land myself a serious job,” she recalls. “i knew i didn’t want to work in economics and i knew my relative advantage lay in my proficiency in english, which is at a mother-tongue level."
“as part of my job search i turned to the jobnet site, which i was familiar with from my previous period of job-hunting. when i saw the comsec listing on jobnet i thought the job could be right for me."
“i didn’t have experience in marketing so i hesitated to send my resume, but when i saw the same listing on jobnet two weeks later i decided to contact them. two days after sending in my resume i was called in for an interview and within a week i was already on the job. at comsec i was given interesting, varied tasks and i’m enjoying the job and the atmosphere at the company.”

most of lian’s work is conducted in english with the company’s many foreign clients (including coca-cola, citibank, toyota, fuji and klm) and the seven comsec branches around the world.
she is responsible for the production and logistics of marketing events in various locations around the world, writing marketing contents, producing brochures, writing and updating contents on the company website, managing company knowledge, organizing events and forums for customers and checking the documents written in english at the company.
reports written in english don’t get sent to foreign clients until lian has looked them over and given her approval.
comsec provides consulting services for information security and operational risks. it is the largest company in its field in israel and europe.
“in addition to interesting work,” lian says, “to me comsec is a warm home. there is a very friendly atmosphere here and good people who are pleasant to work with.”
lian contributes to the social environment at comsec by organizing monthly get-togethers to allow employees to meet outside the workplace and get to know one another better.
as it turns out lian was not the only comsec employee hired through jobnet. mica, comsec’s human resources manager, says the company does 40% of its recruitment through job listings posted on jobnet. in the last quarter alone, four new people were recruited through jobnet.
